Hey everyone! Thanks for checking us out (in a non-creepy way). My name is Tara, I’m 32 years old, and I’m the (neurologically) normal one in this relationship.
My 34 year old husband, Justin, was recently diagnosed with Asperger’s (which is technically called ASD, or Autism-Spectrum Disorder). When I mean recently, I mean like 3 weeks ago. You might wonder how the hell we didn’t catch this earlier. Well, we did, and thought this might be his case, but he wasn’t clinically diagnosed until March 2017.
In researching this disorder, I realized that there isn’t much in the way of adults and relationships involving ASD. Sure, there are a few YouTube videos about adults with this, how they live their life, etc. But when it comes to romantic relationships and what it’s like being married to someone with ASD, the articles fall so very short. I decided to start a blog with our daily life and relationship in the hopes I can reach out to others in this area and share some thoughts and tips. I hope I can help this community and anyone who might be in the same situation, and maybe even help someone who is struggling understanding their significant other.
